OS X. No wasted processor cycles. No updating definition files. No
problems in almost 6 years, and no extra cost.

while your pushing Mac

It doesn't much matter what OS you run, there are potential viral software and Phishing nets to be had. The lifecycle of a flaw and resulting viral software on the *nix/Mac side is significantly shorter though.

Viruses exists for *nix/Mac but they are more like Polar Bears trying to exist in Africa.

But then my point was, while your Fanboying how great osX is; don't forget to thank the generations of Unix developers who made your osX possible.
Can we include encryption software too?

Personally, I don't feel that most AV and Spyware software is that complicated. Though from what I have seen of McAfee lately, I think they have gotten too complicated.

The one piece that is still way too difficult to use is encryption software. The only ease of use encryption I have seen, is Windows EFS, but then it is too simplistic. If you are logged in as that user, you have encrypted access.

F-secure needs to make downloading easier/faster
by compu_geek October 24, 2006 8:48 AM PDT
They make great products IMO, but I was just downloading their home/home office product which is about 64.5MB and it was _ very slow_. Sorry, but if you want to talk about making things easier, and security being like water or electricity, start in your own backyard and ensure that your servers can allow for more than 32KB per download. And, yes, I checked to make sure it wasn' t my connection that was dogging.
