mint telecom - not traditional VoIP
by June 23, 2005 3:45 PM PDT
It is important to note that mint telecom calls are not
going through your phone's wifi connection - you are
only changing the number you want to connect to via
the website - the placed call comes on your cell phone
or POTS via the local DID mint has assigned you.

CallWave has bad business practices
by dcongrav June 24, 2005 1:08 PM PDT
When I went to the CallWave web site there was very little information available and a constant push for a "free trial". When I signed up for the trial there still wasn't much more information but there was a push toward putting my Credit Card information which I wasn't willing to do. They do not list information on specific services nor their prices. When I uninstalled their software there was a message that I'm still signed up and I had to go through a routine to cancel the service. When I did that, they said that I would have to call a toll free number to definitely sign out.

I think it's pretty clear that at the very least, this company has very questionable business practices if not downright illegal.

Stay away!!!
