Vonage Out in CO as Well
by mark.milliman August 12, 2004 8:21 PM PDT
I live in the Denver area and I experienced an outage as well. I started receiving calls on my cell phone which indicated that the line was down. Both incoming and outgoing calls were affected.

I am using one of the first of the Motorola VT1000. I can't put it between my cable modem and router to control egress traffic because the PC port's speed cannot properly be detected. So it hangs off my router. Fortunatetly, Comcast's network provides sufficient bandwidth.

I do not have a POTS line, because the service use to be pretty reliable. Now I am rethinking my decision. I cannot send or receive faxes, echo is often a problem, and spurrious DTMF tones often invade my conversation. Vonage's customer service has not been able to resolve any of my problems. I wish I could put my own SIP phone or line gateway on their network.
