Skype Security
by January 5, 2005 7:31 PM PST
I would like to know if Skype is secure? I did not like that people in my outlook address received e-mails from me inviting them to sign up. They did not even know what they received. I am concerned if Skype can access my outlook address now that i have signed up and remain on line.

MITM attacks

VoIP is an outstanding technology that I see going quite far in a few years. However the real issue now is the possibility of Man in the Middle attacks. To normal end users this is not usually a problem. However for large corporations VoIP technology needs to have a number of security issues addressed before they can even come close to being "secure" enough for a corporate forum. Just my 2 cents.

MITM is easy to guard against with encryption and certificates. No biggie as long as Skype does it right.
