Why don't they just fix Windows?
by July 20, 2005 2:35 PM PDT
Why cannot Microsoft just concentrate on fixing fundamental
security in Windows, rather than faffing around with anti-virus,
anti-spyware etc. They more or less invented the playground for all
this malware.
Other makers of operating systems are hardly hit at all mainly
because they have observed a few fundamental security design
guidelines which also Microsoft could have followed.

Besides, the first virus was not on a Microsoft product. (The first spyware probably was, but since they are installed by user action that is not Microsofts fault.)

I would rant more about market share and all that as I have in the past, but who am I trying to kid? It is not like you are going change your mind.
