Screensaver has all the characteristics of a DDoS Attack.

Just because your intent is to attack someone who would do you harm, does not mean you are attacking without a weapon. It is clearly a DDoS client hidden as a screen saver sent to users who will willingly participate in the DDoS attack.

A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is when multiple hosts use up available bandwidth to a single host. This screen saver does just that, and it's creators lack the ability to control it's impact on the Internet infrastructure.

I do not want to protect spammers, but promoting DDoS attacks as a "good thing" is not making the Internet a safer place for anyone.

I don't mind

I don't mind what they did but what I don't appreciate is the acting as though what they did isn't on the same level of a denial of service attack. They can waddle in the mud with their enemy but they shouldn't act as though they are above them when resorting to the similar category tactics. Of course I can understand in today's current environment how they can justify that type of hypocritical stance.

I don't like spammers, I don't like spam!

Just bacause they are fighting what most of us hate doesn't make this resonable.

A Denial Of Service Attack is still a Denial of service Attack no matter who is being attacked.

The ends do not justify the means.
