Software OWNERS ?????
by hadaso May 10, 2006 3:25 PM PDT
Nobody owns software. Copyright on software is not the same as ownership. Copyright is a restriction by the state on the use of information by anyone other than the author. That's all. Calling copyright holders "owners" is wrong and misleading. Just as calling copyright infringers "thieves" or "pirates". Stealing real property is not the same as violating a state granted monopoly on copying.

Report to the BSA?????
by hadaso May 10, 2006 11:03 PM PDT
I would gladly report spam offering "pirated" software to the BSA, just as I report spam to the sender's ISP, or forward some of it to the FTC or the FDA. However....

The BSA doesn't publish an email address to forward spam to. At least not anywhere I could find. What I could find is a lengthy questionaire asking me to make detailed tables of everything offered for sale by those ads. I don't want to do this job for them. They don't let me just report without doing the investigation for them, so I don't report!
