Laszlo competes with flex which can only output flash based
applications. while laszlo can output non flash based ones.

it doens't compete with GWT or YUI either, cause it isn't a ajax
toolkit.

Laszlo isn't an ajax toolkit. It uses Dojo to create ajax web
applications.
Laszlo can putput webapplications in either flash or plain html
using dojo toolkit. So same code generating two different
interactive applications.
