I love that Lenevo laptop, i had ideas for a laptop like that back when i got my first one, another being a DS like laptop.
But then i realised just how pricey it would be to build something like that, and the battery life would be pretty low too.. the touchscreen based keyboards also won't have any physical surface to any keys, so awkward for typing for most people.
Is there any clue as to what the battery life for this one would be like with both screens on?
As for that dual-view webcam, i'm still not sure about that one.
The whole glasses thing is obviously the main reason, it just doesn't seem like something people would wear just to watch a webcam...
But i do think it would massively improve on hand gestures, facial gestures, and face recognition.
These are definite pluses for the webcam, especially in laptop setups.
Now i can just see someone sitting at a bench winking at their laptop to click... heh.

- The Minoru webcam looks like a nifty device. Unfortunately, without real applications, it won't live up to the impact it COULD have. Remember: if you're going to chat with a friend in 3D, your friend needs a set of glasses too. Likelihood of this: close to zero, especially in the initial stages (recommendation: read a book called "Crossing the Chasm").

(3 Comments)What this webcam needs is applications like HomeCamera (www.homecamera.com). Why? These provide immediate value to the camera buyer - all the buyer would need to do is keep a set of glasses at work and another in her/his bag, hook up the webcam to her PC with HomeCamera, and then monitor her home in 3D. Now THERE'S an application that's completely independent of friends owning the same camera and one to which both products add value.
