The discovery activity showing real-time recommendations is awesome. It builds further on the fluidity that Me.dium provides in surfing and sharing.

Check out kiobo.com. In addition to providing recommendations for new sites you can also see what sites your friends like to visit often - assuming they allow you to. You can also see where they are browsing right now! The UI there is much sexier.
