Interesting take for the favorite apps.
by rumford August 2, 2007 2:27 AM PDT
Rafe. Nice Blog post on the meeting at facebook tonight. It is interesting what people's favorite applications are. It is a s varied as the people you ask. We all use facebook differently and that is the cool thing about it. The varied apps let our experiences be tailored by our own personal choice of apps.

We had on of our bloggers Michael Vu there and he wrote about it as well here: http://facereviews.com/2007/08/01/facebook-developer-happy-hour-lunch-20-experiences/

p.s. Thanks for the video. Hope you don't mind That I used it in our blog post with credit to you. ;)

Are people really using these Apps?
by NotYetButNow August 2, 2007 9:57 AM PDT
Just curious about all the stats floating out there. How many people signed up for an app and then never use it again. I think the number may be quite high. I think the Apps coming will be more usefull than the vanity apps that we currently have.

Fanzak Sports App
by jbrindger August 3, 2007 7:04 AM PDT
I think some of app?s are actually very useful. I am a huge sports fan and the Fanzak.com sports app is extremely useful. It allows me to show what my favorite teams are, lists their schedules for the next week, and then aggregates team news from across the web. While there are other apps that do each function separately, the Fanzak app does it all in one place. If you are a avid sports fan you should check it out.

AppRate.com

Has anyone seen this site, www.AppRate.com? They rate Facebook apps, but the cool things is they allow everybody else (us) to rate them, too... As far as I know, this is the only site that allows the public to rate applications. Does anyone know of any others? I've been trying to weed through the thousands of apps, I just want to know what people find are the best ones. Thanks!

August 20, 2008, -- Fanzak.com has re-launched their sports social networking site, www.fanzak.com.

Fanzak has gone back to the drawing board and improved the platform that makes us one of the most diverse sports social networking sites on the web. Following a lot of hard work and market research, the Fanzak network now provides a better forum for sports fans to foster their obsession by connecting with the teams they root for and their rivals. On the site, members can read team news, share opinions on their favorite teams, and discuss, comment, and blog on rumors.

Fanzak?s goal was to clean up the interface, making it easier to use, and to provide more sports content while simultaneously giving its users more control over the way they view the site. Fanzak is now built using widgets, all of which can be moved around group pages and your profile. With widgets, you can create the page that best fits your sports obsession.

We hope you like the new site!

Come build your own sports world at fanzak.com.

I personally am a big fan of YouPoke where the community creates the pokes and anyone can use them. Some of them are pretty good, others are plain silly, but you can add and remove them as you wish.

I came across some helpful apps for parents that aren't games. Believe it or not, Facebook can be extremely useful in helping us keep our families safe such as tracking sexual offenders, getting product recall alerts and more. http://bit.ly/oFRz9
