The biggest complaint I have about Pownce is that when I comment on someone's note, it goes to everybody. Otherwise, it's real smooth.

is a great desktop Twitter app that you might take a look at. It's a heck of a lot more attractive than Twitteroo, it has built in URL shortening (Alt+t), easy access to direct messages, and it just works flawlessly.
I HIGHLY recommend it.
