Facebook's video player
by MichaelF. May 26, 2007 1:43 AM PDT
The video player (at least I think it's the one you mentioned) was rolled into the
API. Now any dev can use the player as part of their apps via the fb:flv tag, which
is part of the new fbml system. You can find the docs on all of this here:

What about Twitter?
by JTKestrel May 26, 2007 2:03 PM PDT
As a Facebook user, I personally despise the status reports that Facebook offers: "J.T is this" "J.T is that" "J.T is wants a new toy" etc. With the Twitter app, say goodbye to stupid is (whatever) statuses!

I was actually on the fence about adding Twitter, but decided not to because you can't post right from your profile (yet), without having to open it up in canvas mode. I prefer to twitter via IM.
Plazes app on Facebook

Another great way to say goodbye to boring facebook statusses is to use the Plazes app http://apps.facebook.com/plazebook/. It allows you to link a status to a specific location. Instead of just saying "I'm having coffee" you can now say "I'm having coffee at Papa Toby's Revolution Café" where the Café is a hyperlink to a page on plazes.com where you can add pictures and comments about the plaze and see who else has been there or is planning on going there. If you convince your friends to add the application too, it lets you see on a map where they hang out. And if they're near by, why not stop by for a spontaneous little chat?
