Comments on: Google Desktop 5: Now with more Vista

Google updates its desktop search utility. It's very good, but it's not the only option.

I have Vista and GD 5.0 installed and I get no flashy user interface on the sidebar. It is "somewhat" transparent, but not like in your pic! Ugh!

Now that's interesting. I'm on XP. I'm using the "Zune" desktop theme (a separate download, not included with XP) My desktop is just plain dark green, which showed through the sidebar, as you see in the screenshot. Not all of the widgets have been updated, though.

typical mac users. just like xbox fanboys, if its not on your system then its inferior and a rip off. Ya the idea may have been popularized on mac osx and it is a good idea, thats why it has been made into a product that everyone can use.
guess what, ford made the automobile and assembly line into a great thing, does that make all other cars rip-offs? get over yourself and your expensive computer. everyone builds off of everyone else, if we didn't then people would never get anywhere.

I love Macs and they're great, but the first time I saw a Widget was with Linux on RedHat 6.2 back in the 90s.
