Is anyone else surprised Ask even has a 3.9% share? If you would have asked me blindly, I would have said under 1%.

More people would use ask.com if it could really show useful information without blending sponsored results that makes them indistinguishable from real search results most of the time. Honestly, they are going to last only as long as their google ATM is on.

Yeah I totally agree. I never trust any search engine that offers sponsored results at the top. What a way to lose any sort of trust in potential users. It's as if you went to a supermarket and one out of every 4 or 5 fruits/veggies was was a replica made out of plastic with an ad on it. Or something like that.

What does Nascar and Ask.com have in common? Obsolescence. Just as Nascar's TV ratings is free-falling, my prediction for Ask.com is that it won't survive through 2010.

Being a loyal NASCAR fan, I gave Ask.com a chance. No good. Seems like I never could find what I needed. Thanks for sponsoring BL though.
