Can I also suggest MoreInspiration.com? It's a wonderful compilation of thousands of innovations aimed to inspire inventors and product developers.

All seem like really good tools, great at building community. Just a warning though, always check into the confidentiality, privacy and ownership issues before posting or publishing any detailed information about your invention. New inventors sometimes give away the store when discussing their invention. The successful inventor start thinking about their invention as a valuable asset and protect it with appropriate non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. A free sample non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is available for download at http://www.gilmanresearch.com/contactorder.html
