To bring up minute details weeks, months, and years after you've forgotten saying them. I do this in Google Talk (via Gmail) all the time.

if you're that serious about Facebook chatting, get an instant message client such as Digsby. It looks exactly like AIM or any other Instant Message program, and is all encompassing (compatible with programs such as AIM, Yahoo, Myspace, ICQ, Google Talk, and YES FACEBOOK!)
