I'm not a fan of all-inclusive portal sites...but hasn't google pretty much perfected it with iGoogle's virtually unlimited customization? And that's not even their 3rd or 4th (10th?) priority as a company, let alone their lifeblood like it is Yahoo's.

I once liked Yahoo but feel like I use it less and less these days. The only service left I use is Geocities which they have made the worst decision in shuttering. I can find another free web host, or use a paid web host other than Yahoo -- I was using Geocities for free and would prefer another free web host -- but my point is I don't use Yahoo anymore which is sad. I used to use Yahoo Mail a lot but found under their anti-spam rules they reserve the right to spam their own members while blocking other sources of spam. I said enough and moved to MyWay Mail and haven't looked back since.

My Way is No Popups, No Ads, No Kidding. When MyWay first launched they boasted their portal would load faster than Yahoo because it was ad free and they would calculate and say how fast it loaded on the page.

After Google made GMail I switched to GMail and it is going great. I use Google Toolbar whenever I'm in Mozilla Firefox (don't use IE so don't need IE version of Google Toolbar that is Windows only) , Apple Safari or Google Chrome. I have Google Gears and use Google Docs & Spreadsheets.

I hardly IM anymore but when I do AIM is my primary IM client -- sometimes I've used Yahoo Messenger but not as often so yeah I hardly use Yahoo.

I am saddened and angered with Yahoo for shuttering Geocities and at the same time am ready to take the final plunge in abandoning Yahoo forever. With Geocities gone there will be absoiutely nothing left linking me to Yahoo.

As for their site redesign it looks good but even that is not going to bring me back to them. Only way is for them to reverse this decision to close Geocities while their is still time.

Otherwise for me it is bye bye Yahoo forever. I'll just use Google and a handful of other providers I like to get me my web hosting, e-mail, etc.

You didn't say anything if Yahoo will offers ad-free Home Page for a fee (similiar to Yahoo Preminum) or one of partners such as Verizon, AT&T, to name a few. Will Yahoo consider this?

You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.

Ridicolous.. Yahoo has many problems and they think about a re-design. Maybe kicking the whole Yahoo team would be a good development for Yahoo...

I still haven't gotten the redesign over here in southern Arizona. It's still the same design it's been for years.
