Glad to see this addition with Flickr. We've developed a product, PicsMatch, that lives on your PC and utilizes facial recognition to find and organize your photos by events and the people in them. The benefit to having it on your PC rather than online is the ability to know exactly WHICH photos your are sharing online which ensures privacy.

PicsMatch also uploads photos to Flickr and Facebook. With a few clicks, your Friends' nametags and captions transfer automatically to Facebook so that you never have to waste time manually tagging. Flickr, the same with tags and comments.

You can find us at www.picsmatch.com. Check it out!

So exactly what is the benefit to anyone other than on-line stalkers and predators?

Thankfully, I don't have many problems identifying and organizing photos but I can see where a desktop product would be very nice for those with large folders full of photos that are not so organized.

Holy S**T. This will be a stalkers heaven. A stalker could take a picture of anyone they see walking down the road and use a tool like this to correctly identify the name of the person. By analyzing who appears in photos with that person, they could also identify their friends, family and associates. After that, it would not take much work for the stalker to know everything about their intended victim.

This is only one scenario of many potential misuses of this tool.
