I signed up for Twitter a couple of months ago just to find out what it was and it laid dormant until this week when I linked it to my Facebook account. To my surprise I found that I was following Ashton Kutcher, Brittaney spears and 17 others I did not sign up for.

I removed Ashton and Brittaney during the online session but they kept showing as someone I was following. I gave up and didn't think much of it until I read about CNN purchasing a Twitter account that made it the #1 twitter account and that Aston Kutcher was protesting.

I signed back on last night and it showed that I was no longer following Aston or Brittaney, howver how did I get on there to begin with? Something is indeed fishy about Twitter.

the most common Twitter issue I run into when the site is acting buggy is following/unfollowing...I seriously doubt Twitter did this on purpose for promotional purposes, I have this problem at some point almost every day!

My hats off to you Rafe, although I'm personally straight I applaud anyone who chooses to publically out themselves by admitting to having followed a major tool like Ashton 'never met an idea I didn't like to steal and claim as my own' Kutcher. He's the white man's answer to Carlos Mencia ... then again, we're not really sure what that lying SOB is either? ugh ...

Just unfollowed @aplusk this morning (he tweets a lot and the only twitter celebrity who deserves it is Mytbuster's @donttrythis).

If "off aplusk" doesn't work, try with good old "leave aplusk" (or "leave cnnbrk"). Seems to be working ;)

Also, a quick way to do it is to send a text message to twitter.
send "off aplusk" to 40404 and it should do the trick.

I did this after "off aplusk" didn't work using twitter.

Sigh ... "leave" and "off" aren't working, nor are unfollowing from my follower list or from his page. Twitter: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I was able to unfollow in the normal (button) way, but now it shows that I'm following 'broken_account' as if he were one of the suspended spammers, which seems about right.

Figured out how to unfollow Ashton.

I used Nambu (nambu.com) to unfollow him. I assume you could also use tweetdeck or any other 3rd party twitter app that has that functionality.

All I had to do was find him in my list of people I follow and click the "remove" button on the right. Worked first time.

Another thing i am finding fishy about Twitter is what they are choosing to censor. What about the #blackashton (blacklist ashton kutcher) movement. If you search for that now on Twitter, it does not show up anymore. This doesn't sound like the "voice of the people" and "freedom of expression." Good PR for Twitter with all the celebs, but they are definitely making up the rules as they go.

That would be funny if they dropped to under 200k in one week. I wouldn't be suprised if they got a hookup and even think Spencer Pratt has a super nerd network ready to take down Ashton, if a round 2. Social media at its best, lol, go Oprah...
