The criteria used for Don's real-or-fake evaluations seem laughably naive:

-- "_____ posts insider information that only he could know." If only he could know it, how can you tell whether it's true or just something a publicist made up?

-- "_____ talks about her tweets on her show." Well, if you're going to the bother of employing someone to tweet for you, wouldn't you drop an occasional mention to heighten the verisimilitude?

True, with that criteria, it would be hard to prove. I know that Jimmy Fallon, Lance Armstrong, Stephen Fry, Ellen DeGeneris and Wil Wheaton's are the real deal.

Twitter is a lot of fun for those of us who use it. You can follow what your friends and people you admire are doing, share funny stories, etc. I don't follow people who tell me all about their nosebleeds or whatever, just people who have something witty to say. It's fun to get a little banter going, even more so when it's someone for whom I have a lot of respect. If you don't like it, don't feel like you have to read the articles about it.

Stephen Colbert does have a Twitter account, at stephenathome. I don't think he updates much, though.

You will be an A-Level detective if you can figure this one out:

There are TWO Lily Allens (@LilyRoseAllen & @LilyAllen) and TWO Taylor Swifts (@TaySwift & @TaySwift13), all four of which have lots of followers. Which ones are real? Or are they the same person with multiple accounts? Or are they all fictitious?

Twitter is too short, it's like someone giving headlines but no news.

Blog, usually too long, give the news and then the not news, followed by some political opinion....

I like short, to-the-point blogs, emails, etc. I can read a page quickly and get a lot out of it.

Don,

I'm not trying to flame you or be insulting, but I find that your articles are a waste of CNet space and I'm not the only one who feels this way. Your obsession with Twitter annoys me too.

I think it would be pretty easy to spot the real/fake profiles according to their followers, and the fact that its all over the media. What a retarded article.
