Hmm, I wish it would come a bit earlier, but I'm happy with Firefox 3, no need to rush. The only reason I'm not too happy with the betas is the lack of add-on compatibility, but that changes after a while.

With IE 8 RTM coming Monday, I think you will see a drove of Firefox users return to Microsoft's fold. Microsoft has added some innovative features to the update, its not faster than Ff, but its more reliable in my opinion. The new Facebook loads fast in Firefox, but does not render properly in it, but loads reasonably well in IE 8 and loads properly. I like the new Private Browsing feature for my moments of lust, color coordinated tabs makes it easy to move between open pages. Compatibility mode also smooths out issues I may have with certain web pages, Web Slices has been a bit unreliable for me, its slow, slow, slow, slow and not a lot of pages support it.

i do not agree with you , once you get used to Firefox its almost impossible to look back @ IE , it'd be much easier to try other browser ,opera,chrome,safari.. but IE is just so dead..at least for me .

I've been using FF since 0.8 and the only time I use IE is for Windows Updates and certain sites that use ActiveX. That's it. And the ActiveX thing has been going away for a while. FF is much faster, smaller, and has better features. Why would anyone with any knowledge of computers use IE?

Im a big fan of Firefox. I still use IE7 as well and I love a lot of things about IE8. Ultimately the bottom line is these browser wars are VERY healthy for the industry so let the war rage on!

Firefox 3.5 does look good, they've been doing the 3.1 betas for quite some time, but I think I'll wait a while before upgrading because of addons compatibility.

I don't know. I've tried out all the browsers, and perhaps it is just my personality, but to me I like simple controls with some icing on top. Chrome and Safari seem the way to go right now. Safari used a lot of what chrome started and made it a little bit better, but because it is still in beta it has some problems. Chrome is more stable but has less "icing." I think that firefox will need to use some of the things that Chrome and Safari have made popular if it wants to remain a contender in the browser wars. After all really the only reason someone would want to stay with firefox is because of the extensions which a good browser does not need.

@Endbringer, for me Chrome has been more stable than firefox. I've been using Firefox for ages but now that I use Chrome I don't miss it. But I don't agree with the extension part; what makes firefox great is the level of customization that can be achieved and still be stable and offer a good browsing experience. Of course it's not as fast as Chrome's but still better than many other around.

Unfortunately, the longer this takes, the more likely the likes of Chrome will gain share. To me, TraceMonkey was a large enough change to warrant a release and leave the minor features for later. We'll see how much more Chrome grows its share while FireFox trys to figure out what features are important. Feature creep is usually the product of poor product management...or in this case, to much looking in the rear-view mirror.

Ugh... It seems like all the other browsers are getting cool features while us Firefox user are sitting here waiting for a new version. And I will not use any other browser because Adblock plus is so great. It's seriously one of the greatest pieces of software ever written.

i will still use firefox no matter what happen to the war of browser...... cuz once u use firefox, there's no way turning back to IE8 or whatever browser out there........... cant wait for the release!!!!
