They're doing the right thing...kudos to them for that.

Even those most vocal about the changes to the terms of agreement should be satisfied by this new plan...I wonder if Myspace will feel pressure to do the same, eventually?

Zuckerberg said, "We took last week as a strong signal of how much people cared about Facebook and how much they want to govern it."

They dont want to "govern" it, they just dont want you to "govern" them. In the US, they elect representatives to congress and a president to do that.

This concept and idea has actually been done on a small social network site founded by members kicked of of places like Tribe and MySpace over 2 years ago. Looks like Zuckerberg is "borrowing" ideas again. Give some credit where credit is due I am not plugging this site only pointing out the concept and foundation were in fact other peoples ideas. RE http://free-association.net their entire history, member voting and founding documents are all listed under their history.

Citizen governance in a community as large as Facebook would be truly transformational. It would be a great place to test the transparency of online voting. For more on this: http://blog.jimadler.name/2009/02/facebook-voting-no-cheating-please.html.

Is there an email address at which one can contact facebook about its terms of service??

For unusual reasons, it is not possible (the information is not known) for me to give definite answers to some of the registration questions they ask -- but filling in something random would very likely be providing false information. So I can't register without violating the terms of service, and I can't find any way to communicate with them about how to resolve this without registering with them!

Facebook is, you might recall, the company involved in the conviction of someone under the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Statutes for having provided "false information"; as I do not wish to risk such a prosecution, I need find a communications channel to iron this out that doesn't require that I register with them.
