I've used everything, almost. Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL, AIM, and Gmail. And now I bet you can guess what my default, use-for-everything client is? Yep, Gmail. I know this is weird, but Gmail just gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
On my list of fuzzy-feeling programs/clients/OSs, Gmail is high on the list, which is as follows:
Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex
Firefox 3
Gmail
GIMP
Rhythmbox

So that's really high, because there are more programs in that list.

And one of the greatest things about every one of those programs: They're not OBTRUSIVE. I hate obtrusive. For example:
Windows:Buy this software and then you'll be able to see your files.
iTunes:Oh no, you can't use me on Ubuntu, I'm too cool for that.
Adobe Photoshop:Pay $600 and you can have the supposed best photo editor on the planet.
IE7:You know what would be cool? If I kept all my icons frozen in place and put useless buttons the user won't know what to do with everywhere, including the tabs bar! Heehee!
Yahoo, Hotmail: You know, I like being rude. I'll put ugly, blinking neon ads all over the user interface!
AOL: Pay me 20 dollars a month, even with an external modem, and you can use our software.
AIM: Download AIM toolbar, AIM buddy list and AIM instant messaging bar and then you'll have the coolest *cough most bloated cough cough* Instant Messaging System built right in to your browser. WHEE!

I say No to idiotic, bloated programs. Period. The end.

I have a Gmail account, bit right now it's only gathering spam. And it will stay that way.

Yahoo is the superior Email-service according to me. And not before Gmail implement folders FOR GOD'S SAKE, will I even consider trying it some more. Yahoo Mail also have some other features I can't live without so no thanks. I have got some nasty comments from time to time that Gmail has folders and its called labels... But that WRONG! It's not folder, it confusing and does not work very well and if it really was folders, it would be NAMED Folders! God... The only thing Gmail has that is great is the speed. Everything else can be matched of done better by Yahoo Mail.

I guess Gmail is the hipp and cool thing to use, but not before they add support for FOLDERS!

The ability to turn off web clips, and the new 'google themes' is definately an added benefit. I however , prefer traditional folders to labels and do not like the conversation view( that's why there is a subject field!). However, to have an email program that is the fastest and filters spam so effectively, outweighs these minor 'flaws'.

Oh yeah - so much hype about Gmail...It is the ugliest of all email web-apps...I guess most people do not have any taste - so using Gmail for them is O.K. I am using Hotmail since 1994, have Gmail account for years too - but i get 5 junk mails a day on Hotmail and hundreds on Gmail - even though i am not using gmail email at all - not sure how to explain that. I guess google sold my email to someone...
