Comments on: Microsoft: IE 8 won't be done until 2009

Company will do one more test version early next year before releasing the final version. Microsoft had earlier said to expect the browser to be finalized this year.

Firefox is a great browser but not at all. There are some not compatible of Firefox, that compatible only in IE. For me, using Firefox, IE, Safari, etc. as a browser its doesn't matter as long as you're comfortable as your work.

Looking forward to it, got tired of firefox 3 and its bugs, seems the more the "developers" work on it, the more bugs they create. Went back to IE and with IE7Pro, don't miss ff a bit.

Who cares about IE on OS X or Linux (its a good thing though, but don't expect many users will be using IE as their default browser on these other platform) unless its for web site testing. I prefer Safari/Opera/FF/Chrome any day then crappy, pigslow IE.

Oh yeah and can MS finally force people to upgrade from IE5 and IE6 to IE7 or better yet kill all previous IEs and force them to upgrade to IE8?

IE7 is just fairly okay (in terms of web standard), IE6 and below is just "humorous".

meh...im going to stick with my combo of Opera/Firefox, its unstoppable.

*pfft* If it wasn't for IE swaying from the standards, i'd be using opera all the time (hotmail doesn't work in it properly...)

and as for those that use FF3, FF2 was WAY better in my opinion...

For now, nothing beats FF and its addons, IMO.
No more IE-only sites problem, just get the IEtab extension.

But for some quick look on something on the internet, I just hit the Chrome button, as it saves me a few seconds of loading time when opening.

And I don't see IE having a bigger marketshare as a problem, I see it as a plus for FF, as hackers usually target the majority of the users and users that have no clue of how to keep a computer safe, IE has them both.

Who gives a flying fart in a hurricane about the next version of IE? I can't imagine anything more unnecessary. Why would any thinking person, anywhere, use IE when Firefox is lightyears better?

If you want your browser to look and function the way Bill Gates wants it to, use IE. If you want your browser to look and function the way YOU want it to, use something else -- ANYTHING else!
