Comments on: More cosmetic delights for Gmail: themes

Google lets people customize the Gmail's utilitarian appearance. If for no other reason, I'll use themes to rid myself of the ugly Gmail logo.

Google usually takes some time to actually roll-out these things. I wonder how long it will be before this actually goes live. I've checked and there is nothing about theme in the Gmail settings yet......

Wow, I'm the first poster.......woot!

Themes are great and all -- in fact I've always liked the idea of theme-able web pages using CSS -- but will Google ever fix GMail's IMAP problems? This seems like the Microsoft development model -- ignore the problems and focus on eye candy. It's a shame.

I still don't have it! Now if only http://www.picmember.com adds themes to my PicInbox. Life would be perfect.

What's the chance that themes will come to Google Apps?

Hmmm. You have themes there that aren't among my choices. Is there another resource for them?

Here is how you get Gmail themes log into account, then go to settings, and on the top toolbar you will see where it says themes click on it. Then you can choose different themes. But if you have Gmail Redesign, you will have to disable it for the new Gmail themes to work.

the new themes are good with the limited options but what about
having this same option in Gmail Calendar? It's a good start...

Google rolled out ?Themes? for Gmail today, causing everyone to scramble to see if they had access.

As a start up focused on customizing the browser, definitely on board with this.

I would rather have the left tab gone off my iGoogle page, the work arounds are not helpful. Themes are great eye candy but I usually end up getting tired of them and go back to regular - altho now that I don't hang around my google stuff much any more it will be a while.

Google ruined my iGoogle experience to the point that my home page has since been my Gmail inbox. Now, they want to ruin that for me as well. Why can't they just acknowledge some people just don't want this clutter.

YMMV
