Comments on: VoxOx goes gunning for Skype, Digsby

VoxOx looks nice, cool skin. But if it don't run under Linux, that does it for me! Skype running under 64bit Ubuntu Wow video works... Every thing I need...

Hey all - just a warning. I installed voxox on a Vista machine and now I CANNOT uninstall it. The software is glitchy, it hangs or crashes and much of it doesn't work. I recommend you DO NOT install this software until the voxox team replies to the posts about how to uninstall the program.

The review says among other things, "As you can tell from the list of planned features above, VoxOx is still very much in beta." Let me say that is an understatement. It may have potential but right now it loads up and within a few minutes it doesn't just crash it literally disappears - complete spontaneous shut down (Mac OS X 10.5, new Macbook with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz and 4 Gig of RAM). Assuming it becomes stable one day, there's another point - eye candy. There's so much, and such somber dark colors, that the word "cluttered" is also a great understatement. The system RAM use seems quite high too when lots of stuff is running. NONETHELESS the promise seems huge for this thing; the level of clutter I'm sure will have some user customizing control over time, including the color schemes, etc.; and if all they say really comes together in a STABLE app, that plays nice with the Mac web cam, then it could be VERY cool.

Well just to update this review it's been a year now and I just downloaded this software. So far it's been fairly good for it's level of development with only a few glitches so far. If this app keeps improving like it has been based on last years reviews it should be a good replacement for several applications. Time will tell.
