How do we know if the jobs are real? Do these companies provide statistic on which ones are real and which ones are out to get people's resume and waste people's time. This is the problem with companies posting job openings, they waste your time when they are faking the job posting to 1) need vital information 2) gather resume 3) waste your time.

I've seen job posting from a year ago. Does it mean the job isn't fill till this day.

You bring up a valid point, but that's a bleak outlook, isn't it! I can't speak for all the companies listed above but I posted the openings for one of my clients (OrangeSoda) and I know they are legit. The company has grown from just a handful of employees in 2006 to more than 150 now. Not all news is bad news in the economy.

Also, some jobs are rolling jobs. I know here in Utah computer programmers and engineers are always in high demand so many companies are constantly recruiting them to get the best talent.

You're quite right that many job listings out there are NOT for real. They exist only to satisfy government requirements for H1B VISAs and Green Cards. Both processes require that a company wishing to hire a foreign candidate must prove that they are unable to fill the position with an existing permanent resident or citizen. A part of this proof includes running advertisements for the job to be filled, and then filtering out all the non-foreign candidates as being "unqualified" so that they can hire the foreign candidate at a lower wage and with the "H1B" threat over their heads. This is a very common practice. But ... some of these jobs are real, I'm sure. Good-luck.

A lot of companies posted their layoffs following the end of the financial year (Sept 30th for many companies) and then were forced to announce layoffs shortly thereafter. While there are a few more than last year in the IT industry, when you look back at last year and this year, it isn't nearly as doom and gloom as it may seem at first.

I myself got contacted by a recruiter today from a company from the first list (layoffs), they just got rid of 20% in October.

Update: I have added Job Location to the data entry form. As soon as I start getting entries with job location specified, I will add the column to the live form here as well.

There are lots of jobs out there. We're seeing this transfer from big companies to smaller companies. There is lots of stuff to do if you are willing to work and aren't looking for a job that you can slack off and read message boards like this all day long (uh, like I'm doing, heh!)

Great idea, but I would suggest some cleanup. For example, the Cisco entry is for a job board, not a recruiter or Cisco. All Cisco jobs are listed right on the site and can be applied for there.
