Comments on: A rant on risk: Swype vs. Fitbit

Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I thought that "venture" in the title "venture capitalist" meant something.

So how does this differ from SlideIT, which received a US patent in April, 2007? The two methods seem identical to me!
Check out http://www.dasur.co.il/Product/SlideIT/SlideIT.php

they have also working free demo and a pc demo .... try it!

if one company picks up on this - chances are fairly good that, unless the deal is done right - the others won't be able to. Especially if Apple gets it. "Exclusively on iPhones - Swype!"

Bigger possibility does, in fact, mean bigger risk. If I were investing in today's economy - I'd go for the sure thing.

To henryS45:
If you copy my comment in extenso (see "Move over T9, here comes Swype" from Sept 9th), then you should at least give me some credit for it!
Nonetheless, I still wonder why Swype gets all the attention when SlideIT doesn't get any?

Seeing as Ilium Software released the same basic application in 1997 (called InScribe) and an update in 2006, I'm not sure how "new" Swype is anyhow.
