How is this any better than Sony's latest- the HT-CT100, weighing in at $299 or less? Depending on specs I guess maybe Vizio can come out ahead, but against a proven audio company and premium-image brand like Sony, they will be hard-pressed unless they drop their price below Sony.

If they use the same Vizio TV speakers it will suck. It can't do Dolby Digital decode and will *attempt* to create surround sound from 4 speakers and a bit of phase shifting. Poor consumers will think they have a real sound system, but won't know better.
