I love my 56" DLP and I'd buy it again. The accurate colors, lack of SDE, and price to size makes it a pretty compelling buy. You still can't buy a flat panel for the price I paid for mine two years ago. I still get compliments on my set even from friends/family who own much more expensive LCDs.

Ditto to everything you said. I love listening to self-proclaimed videophiles talk down about DLP sets yet somehow everytime I see one, the color reproduction and dark area detail pales in comparison to my Samsung 56" LED DLP. Did I mention it was only $1600 when I got it early this year?

I predict CNET will continue to predicti the imminent death of DLP for the next decade.

I'm no videophile, but I'm pickier than most, and you can still count me in with the previous posters as well ... I have a 56" Samsung 1080P DLP and love it ... no regrets at all ... paid something like $1400 for it last fall ... in fact, I bought the pre-LED version because I preferred the matte finish of the screen, so I'm actually two versions back and still very happy ... I picked up an Onkyo HD receiver and use it to feed signals from my satellite hd receiver, xbox 360 (+HD-DVD), and wii to the TV ... with that being said, would I go with LCD or plasma next time if the prices come down enough? probably, but I wouldn't hesitate to get another one just like this if the price difference remains ... in the mean time I'm just going to enjoy the heck out of this TV ... cheers!
