Comments on: Ape eats Apple: Why MediaMonkey is an iTunes killer

iTunes' performance on the PC has been less than stellar. MediaMonkey, on the other hand, has been steadily climbing to the top of the jukebox tree. Take a look at what makes this player the best freeware Windows player around, even for iPod owners.

I like the features of Media Monkey; the podcast list is a little funky, but accessible nonetheless. I sync'd some of my content with my Blackberry and the player listed all my songs as the same artist, then when I made the changes, it switched everything around again.

How can it kill iTunes if it can't even compete in more than one format? Besides, it's the integration of iTunes and iPod/iPhone that makes iTunes such a winner in the marketplace.

Better customization isn't useful for those who don't need it. I rarely listen to music on my computer anyway.

to be honest i only use media monkey within the 30 mth trial before giving up on it.

1.) as a pc user, nothing beats the simplicity and cool factor + ease of syncing to my ipod classic as the itunes media jukebox itself.

2.) i use foobar - http://www.foobar2000.org/index.html for converting music from one format to another. it uses the least memory in all. and its perfect for listening to my mp3 every now and then.

so in other words, use the software that meets ur needs and pockets.

I downloaded the software twice and tried to install it twice and it won't run at all. (I use Win XP SP2)

"As a WinAmp user, the feature that most impressed me was the tag support."

The feature is a WinAmp user?
