Is SlingBox really a small company now that EchoStar (the parent co of Dish) acquired them?

I being a loyal Netflix customer. Was quite outraged when I heard this so of course, I picked up the phone and called them. I talked with a Netflix rep who told me that they WILL NOT charge extra for Blu-Ray. Now that being said they have gotten a number of phone calls from customers and not sure where this is coming from.

I'm also a netflix customer and get Blu-Ray discs from them and I think this would be a major mistake. I've returned a LOT of DVDs back to netflix due to them being scratched and unplayable or skipping but I have never had to return a Blu-Ray disc.

With there superior surface the Blu-Ray discs seem to be quite a bit tougher and I've never received one that even looked slightly scratched.

Taking that into account I would of thought the extra $10 on the price of a disc would pay for itself very quickly in replacement disc cost and shipping costs.

We have been overcharged for the cost of Dvd's the last 5 years, I think it evens out.

Update to this old story: Netflix is officially charging a dollar more a month for Blu Ray. When will the people behind Blu Ray realize that they will never have much penetration until they make Blu Ray more affordable? $30-$35 for a new movie is whack and Blu Ray is not 3x better than an upscaled DVD.
