Youtube is an illegal website. People post copyrighted videos without approval. I know there are some legal videos on Youtube but there is no clear way to tell if one specific video is legal or not. So if you click on one of those copyright videos BY MISTAKE you will still go to prison for life and your parents will be charged with a billion dollar fine even though they had nothing to do with your crime.

i use the Real player addin. It works not just for youtube but ANY streaming video from ANY site. You simply hover your mouse over the video and a small download button appears on the upper-right corner ! It's that simple. Ok it doesn't convert the videos but any decent player nowadays supports the flv format (VLC for example).
The only problem is that at times it takes full control of one cpu core even AFTER it has downloaded so i kill the process using the task manager :-(
