Sony has a 27-inch OLED TV prototype. Didn't we see this last year?

If they can get a 12 inch wide 1200x800 screen from OLED, I think they should go with it. Power consumption, thickness, heat...

...OLED could make them all go away..
And a contrast ratio that puts LCD + LED to shame.

Best case, with encapsulation technology that doesn't exist yet means the device will lose 50% of its light output after 10000 hours.

Seems rather silly to spend $2500 on a television that has a useful lifetime comparable to a light bulb, doesn't it?
