MagicJack allows users to host large conference calls for free. There is a catch however!!!
MagicJack prevents its users from dialing into conference calls that are not hosted by MagicJack. I had been using MagicJack for about four months when I tried to dial into a 75 caller conference call at home. After dialing the number, all I would get is a MagickJack recording telling me that I could not dial this number from my MagicJack phone, the voice told me that I could however host my own MagicJack teleconference if I would call a different number. MagicJack blocks other teleconference providers numbers because they want to host the teleconferences themselves. I understand their desire for increased marketshare, however they should disclose this information to consumers instead of implying that callers can use MagicJack just like they can use a land line or a cell phone. MagicJack users will not be able to dial into the majority of teleconferces that have been invited to.

Why does someone with the same area code have to enter a "1"? Are they then billed long distance????

I have had this unit for 5 months now and just love it!! It works just like any landline phone. I can call coast to coast and no extra fees. I have saved so much on my cell phone usuage since receiving. I totally recommend this unit.

The con is you have to have you pc/laptop on but it will receive v-mails and send it to you e-mail. So, if your at work you can check v-mails.

My magicjack has an error of broken storage. I did what was on their help page to format and reinstall, it was fixed for a while, then after restarting the computer it was broken again with the same error. I tried contacting their online help support but it only displays a blank page, I think their online help desk is only available for US residents. There are lots of magicjack users that has the same problem as mine. I'm very dissapointed with this product! I tried to email them but when i click the email link the field that should have their email add is blank................................

Before you buy, check out their current available area codes at <http://www.magicjack.com/9/areacodes.asp>. I purchased MagicJack and there has not been a single area code available in my whole state for 3 straight months! They now give you the option to change your number once, but I'm not going to sign up for an out of state area code.
