Comments on: Did Apple invent the cell phone?

'Time' picks the iPhone as its "Invention of the Year." But last time I looked cell phones existed before this year.

Invention of the year

What happend to all the negatives that the IPhone was getting after it came out? What about the lack of 3G network support which makes it virtually useless to anyone that doesnt have all day to wait around? Invention of the year that's just plain crazy as there is not really anything all that unique about the devce itself. what makes it unique is the software and the way the user interfaces with it. Whether it is an invention or not? Who really cares!!!!! I am however going to have to read Time's article and wonder who they have working over there at Time! Must be a bunch of psudo-intellectual artsy types, the only real customer's Apple has had for all theese years. Who else would buy Apple's drastically overpriced yet aestheiclly pleasing prouduct's.

Apple RE-invented Cell Phones !!

I think as a phone ... iPhone lacks many features, one of the most important is 3.5g, where it allows you to make video calls and surf the net with a speed more than 7.2Mbps. It looks like that apple did not start where others ended, but "invented the wheel again". However, as a Gadget, iPhone is a top end product, with many great features.

In Summary: iPhone is a Standard Phone in a Hi-tech iPod !!
