Biased Approach
by MadLyb September 21, 2007 10:14 AM PDT
Love the look of these printers, but why would they do an Apple only approach? Contrary to common perception, many of us who use PCs like style as well. It's just that price and function are important as well (sorry couldn't resist).

"Functionality"

Anyone else notice these are monochrome (i.e. gray scale)?

I was about 2 seconds from getting out my credit card when I realised they were monochrome. If they'd print colour I'd already have mine on order.

Would someone, please, make printers/scanners that don't look like they're straight out of the 80's? I don't want a hulking cubicle-white printing monolith, I want a slim, sleek device.

A Printer That Works With A Mac? Finally!
by verbalvoodoo September 29, 2007 7:31 AM PDT
I don't know about anyone else but it seems to me that printers are made for Windows with Windows print drivers first and foremost -- and the mac driver is an afterthought 3 years later.

I have rarely been able to get any printer to just PRINT (even a single page) using my Mac without multiple attempts. While if I use that same printer with my PC is works flawlessly.

I know that if Apple were to make a printer then it'd work. And here one is at long last.

Epson has stylish printers that actually print in color.
Sexy has to be more than skin deep, Apple.

These printers are for sale at a number of other online vendors besides Apple. What's the big deal calling it exclusive if the Apple Store isn't the only place you can buy them?
