- It really doesn't matter who wins this war over the next 2 years because the whole technology is becoming obsolete. Video on demand or internet downloads of movies will replace a physical medium in the next 3 years. It happened with music over the last 3-4 years and the video coversion rate will be much faster. My wife and I have more than 500 DVD's yet we haven't bought one in the last 12 months do to VOD and downloading.
