Could they be both?

When they say it's for "music industry and film industry leaders only" they don't mean that others are not worthy to have these or anything. They just mean that these speakers are made for reference type work for use in recording studios etc. and hence the price tag.

I've been involved in music production a bit and have friends who're with Sony Music and what those guys usually say is that if a track sounds acceptable on crappy speakers, then it sounds very good on whatever the public's going to listen to it on lol

At least the company name's appropriate...

Why, gee?

The company description on their web site was actually quite humorous. Not pedigree to speak of, and an absolute adherence to the dogma of aluminum(?), who's 'tekkieness' somehow performs magical things with sound waves. I didn't believe it when KEF--an audio company that DOES have a history, BTW--professed a love of the metal with their Muon, I certainly am not going to believe it with something that looks like an outtake from the 'Transformers' cartoon series.

Their philosophies are really something else... like how they only demonstrate to invited potential buyers due to "trade secrets"... lol When you note their wording they don't sound very professional at all and the whole thing almost sounds like a scam.
