Driver, where are you?
by Chiatzu May 7, 2007 5:44 AM PDT
Cute theatrics, but could have been summed up in half the text and pages.
I've found installing my XP programs, Quicken 2006 for instance, more than
troublesome. Other programs that run fine with XP complain about Vista.
Vista is new, true, but device driver and program incompatabilities are
already a major pain to upgrading from XP. Is it any wonder people try Vista
than go back to XP? In fact, the number one thing I hate about all Windows
versions is finding the correct drivers to update your hardware. It you build
your own machines, double the trouble. This plainly isn't an issue with OS X
since you run your regular software updates and the system is ready to go.
There's something to be said for keeping your hardware on a short leash. OS
X wins this round.

Waste of my time

This garbage was a waste of my time. This is not what I expected, and was not helpful. Stick to what you do well. You failed miserably with this effort at humor. You could have said all this on one page, and left the theatrics to the experts. I am not amused.

OSX vs Vista
by Remag1234 May 12, 2007 7:29 AM PDT
Rather than all the fanfare and BS, why not just watch the Apple commercials. They tell it like it is, Vista and all WinBloze versions are BLOATED and loaded with hidden files that send info back to Micro$oft. Someone wrote they couldn't justify the extra cost of a Mac hasn't calculated ALL the extras that have to be purchased to bring it close to a Mac. Macs rule because they are Quality built computers. WinBloze computers can be built by anyone using the CHEAPEST crappy parts. There are Macs still running that are 5-12 years old without replacement parts. Can any other computer maker make that statement? end of rant.

Commercials are bush league
by dlastovka May 13, 2007 5:22 AM PDT
Those commercials are horribly wrong. I really don't know why Apple resorts to bush league advertising.

I'm the tech coordinator in a school district with a mixture of Windows XP, OSX, and OS9. I spend more time fixing the macs. In the past three years, I've had one hardware problem (hard drive) with one of our HP computers. The macs break down all of the time. Right now, I have around 20 eMacs that need new motherboards because of some faulty capacitors Apple put in them. The iMacs are always having power supply problems. So don't give me the line that Apples are built better than PCs. I have evidence that says otherwise.

I also run multiple platforms at home. I have three desktops PCs (2 running XP and one running Vista), 2 laptops running XP, Pocket PC, iMac running OSX, and a Color Classic. The macs are very seldom used.
Mac vs Vista

Hi,

I doubt that Windows or Mac will drag the other OS to death. I believe they will be competing for eva. As each of them has its strong and bad points. A good comparison of Mac vs Vista can be found at http://itcomparison.com/OS/MacvsVista/macvsvista.htm

Enjoy,
