And do they really think that 100 people buying an HD-DVD on ONE day is gonna magically make HD-DVD the winning format?

Are big business people ignorant of statistics as the people who're trying to do this?
Both formats can suck it

Give me 3x DVD
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hddvd#3x_DVD

With my 1080i 51" and the 1080p federal mandate at least 2 years off, I'm not going to pay extra for either. Well, hypothetically I WOULDN'T pay more, if I didn't have torrents and HRHD on my Xbox Media Center...

... you posted the link. The 3x DVD wikipedia article says:

"While 3x DVDs provide the same high definition content, the trade off is that playback time is limited. ... about 85 minutes of 1080p video ... This makes the format suitable for subjects such as training videos and home movies, but not suitable for typical wide release studio movies." - Wikipedia article (accessed 1.24PM GMT, 16/03/2007)

Let's just hope your home videos or training videos don't suck too when someone brings their girlfriend over to kick back and watch a movie at home.
One format please...

I don't want Sony to win. I want "us" to win. As a huge action/sci-fi movie fan, I have decided to I'm in favor of Blu-Ray. I can't say this decision is because Blu-Ray is "better" than HD-DVD.
