Not a hoax: It's totally true

It's totally true; my Zune's LCD cracked today. It was in my coat pocket, in my locker, with nothing on top of it except for layers of my jacket. I also had a case for it.

So I called Microsoft today, and they told me that it's not covered. No, they did not care about why it cracked in the first place, or how, or whatever. Just 'it's not cover, sorry'. At least the representative was nice enough to apologize several times.

But then that got me thinking. There's no 'that's odd..' or 'did you drop it?' or anything like that. Just 'it's not cover'. It's like the problem is such a frequent occurence, they had to rehearse their answers.

Which I think is the case, seeing all these complaints all over the internet.

The same exact thing happened to my Zune. Mine wasn't new when it happened (I think the unit was just over a year old at the time) but I had rarely used the it. I had maybe a total of 5-10 listening hours on it when it broke. Anyhow, I left the device on the charger & when I went to turn the device on later the display screen was cracked (internally, not externally). I emailed Microsoft several times & never received a response from them. In all fairness, I never called them on the phone., I had just sent the emails. I figured them being Microsoft that email was the best way to go....not!

Mine just did this today. I couldn't believe it. And, of course, Best Buy considers it accidental damage so they won't have it fixed or replace it.
