7.1 mp not 10 mp
by tbcass January 30, 2007 3:01 AM PST
While the article states the camera is 10mp Olympus states it is 7.1 mp.

Sensor

? 1/2.5" Type CCD
? 7.4 million pixels total
? 7.1 million effective pixels

A 1/2.5" sensor is pretty small so expect noisy images above iso 100, Also a zoom that extreme won't be very sharp. It sounds like a loy of marketing hype.

Image Stabilization on the 18x optical zoom camera
by Geotop February 7, 2007 9:18 AM PST
I have read in the past that Olimpic's Image Stabilization was not as good as others like Kodak or SONY because it was digital stabilization. Is it still lacking and if so how will that affect the resolution of images at the distance being advertised?

Has there been any talk of adding image stabilization the the Stylus 770SW? This seems to be the only major feature lacking and the only thing holding me back.
