Love the Dell M2010

I have a 2010 (well my wife does but I took it from her) and I love it. Sure it's bigger than the usual laptop, but as the video showed, you can use it with no bother. I'm an ex Londoner now living on Vancouver Island. I probably would never use it on a bus or the tube anyway, but drop into a local Starbucks with it's Internet hot spot, and you have one seriously impressive machine. I love Dell, all of my computers have been Dells since I arrived here in 1990 thanks to the first person I talked to at Dell asking me what I wanted the machine to do, not here's what I have take it or leave it. My current desktop has a 24 inch flat screen which is great for games, but the 20 inch on the 2010 is almost just as good. I saw it on Dell's website very early on and just couldn't believe the size of the thing, but I have to say, who wants a small screen when you can have one this size. It's great.

You can come up to a pretty girl, while holding the laptop in your hang, and tell her you came from the furture and you need to save her.

Huge Hybrid Desktops are Hateful

referencing these huge 20" and 20# laptop/desktop hybrids-I consider them a tragic case of affective overdose, hugeness for the sake of hugeness. I prefer a reasonably priced 10" screeen with decent security and wireless provisions and good speakers, this would be a machine for travel-sadly only sony has come forward and the price is excessive at this time!

Flash video

I noticed that from my work location I could not view the video (we're behind a corporate firewall/proxy server). However, when I went to the UK site from the link in the story I could view the Flash video just fine. I would suggest the US group learn how the UK group got this to work so the CNET videos are viewable to folks like us.

Ordered one..

..and maxed it out. Actually the size kind of intimidated me at first, but after the video I realized it probably wasn't so bad. And as I used to sling one of those huge casette decks in the 80's, 18 lbs. is peanuts.It's not really a notebook its classified as a 'Desktop replacement', and it would be unfair to compare it to a notebook.....for the notebooks. This system would be perfect for a bachelor suite or that young professional still living at home. Its an entire entertainment suite in an 18 lbs. package. How could you go wrong? As soon as I saw it, I started to think of HOW I could use it,if you stop limiting it as a notebook its horizons really grow.
