Totally agree - forget the damn stores. Get moving on a *much* more reliable connection, MMS support and tethering support.

Apple made a huge mistake here - I love my iPhone and hate AT&T. I liked TMobile a lot better when I was with them. Apple should have just made a regular MVNO deal with AT&T, TMobile and whoever else. Then just license them the software that makes the cell tower switches do visual voicemail and have done with it.

Can't wait until 4G / LTE, when everyone converges and then there won't be all of these different standards and more choice without Apple having to make different phones for ATT/TMobile (GSM) and Verizon/Sprint (CDMA).

OMG AT&T is not a crappy network!t is just overloaded.i wish they would fix it fast.I totally agree about no MMS etc.

Forget the store makeovers. AT&T's priority should be on improving their network so there will not be a mass exodus of Iphone customers when they have a choice in carriers. As good as the Iphone is, you can only put up with sub-standard service for so long. As soon as I can get an Iphone that works on Verizon I'm gone.

Hands-on experience may be a good thing; but if no one can answer your questions, how much benefit will your get? Which would you rather have, hands-on experience in front of someone who says either "I don't know" or gives the wrong answer OR a half-hour wait on the phone (including escalation time) before getting to someone who knows how to deal with your issue? AT&T can dress up their stores all they want; but, if their staff does not know how to face customers properly, they would do better to sublet the property to Starbucks.

AT&T needs to add capacity and coverage to their network. Most AT&T customers could care less about store makeovers. Too bad AT&T and Verizon are in a race to the bottom in terms of improving the customer experience.

I agree, forget about the stores. AT&T should put their money where the talk is and its currently not with their 3G network. I was recently in Canada and purchased international roaming services from Rogers and got to experience what a real 3G network should be like. It was like night and day. In Seattle, their 3G service is so spotty its ridiculous and as soon as their is a choice I'm sure I will be making that switch as well. How do they expect exclusivity when they cant even provide all the services that the iphone provides. Whoever made that decision at Apple should be looking for a new job.

Agreed. I refuse to get an iPhone because of AT&T. The network is sketchy and the company just feels so 1992.

I love My iphone and I want to upgrade to the new 3gs but I cant see paying close to 700 for a phone cause I dont want to upgrade my contract. I agree ATT needs to concentrate on their PEOPLE and their CONNECTION before worrying about their buildings. Sprint and Tmobile are NOT the best carriers to handle this their people are just as incompetent as the Monkeys in ATT I know that verizon is just as expensive as ATT but I love my IPHONE i honestly think that APPLE needs to make their own Phone Company and keep their phones. Then iphone will have a chance in the market.

Add another vote for 'forget the stores'. Next week will be one year since I bought the iPhone 3G and I have yet to pick up a 3G signal. That's $120 ($10 extra per month for the 3G's data plan) I've paid for a service that haven't yet been able to use. Amazing how quickly the 3G coverage spots on the map shrink once you sign the two-year contract! Apple, please build an iPhone for every carrier, that way they'll have to actually compete with each other on rates and quality of service.

The store employees are pathetic. They act like they're God almighty just cause they sell iphone accessories. Went home and bought the same thing online.

This just illustrates why monopolies are bad. You give someone power and watch them run amok with it. For all the talk of being consumer friendly, these exclusive deals are just another big middle finger to the customer. I can have an iphone any color I want, as long as its black...

hahaha you idiots are still complaining about ATT's service...u shoulda known better before signing the contract just for a supposed "cool" phone.....ATT network will always be ranked 2nd to last according to JD power and associates !!!!

ATT is quite simply a joke. My "retail store" is only open until 5:45pm.....supposed to be open until 6 but apparently the manager there hasn't caught on that the employees there think they work for the gov't and leave early on a daily basis......I can honestly say I have not (been able to) step foot into the retail store since becoming a customer (for 7 years since Cingular) so who gives a flip about them and the money they are wasting on them.

Their network is completely broken!! I got stuck on I10 in Mississippi just outside of Louisiana late one night and tried to call roadside asssistance and got the old familiar dropped call tone.....time after time after time.

They put me and my family in a dangerous situation and when I called to complain, the customer no service rep. was insensitive, rude and one of them actually hung up on me.......or did the call just drop??

AT&T needs to lose the orange left over from Cingular. Cingular was a bad dream and it's gone. Blue and orange do not go together.

ATT could sort of ride on Verizon's slogan,it wouldn't be illegal to use because if you change it just a little,the commercial would go something like this, >>>>Hello? Can yoouuuuu here meeeeee,is there anyone there,Hello,HELLOOOOOO, is there anybody out there.CLick they hung up on us again.

One other thing i don't know if many people were around,but if you remember the days of the phone cards,this hit ATT like an asteroid, see ATT was never for performance,they have one of the largest faculties of greed there is,im really surprised and im not kidding that ATT didn't have its hand out for charity from the goverment,i am truly surprised,there were long distance carriers who vanished in the 90's ATT almost went with them,i can't remember the one it began with an M anyway,trust me people and i should learn myself that ATT is never going to be there for there customer base,never, another slogan for them should be,everyday we loose a fool we will gain another one.
