Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
Also, don't a be a ******. By calling out the 360 for having a 'meager' offering marks you as a PS3 fanboy, who don't have the best reputation as of late. There's a reason the PS3 is a distant third right now, and you're not helping.
@niko_osokin
You have to admit though xbox360 fanboys havent had the best reputation since ALWAYS. Ive seen many forums and articles with ps3 fanboys and xbox360 fanboys talking so much garbage, but xbox fanboys are greater in number. ALL fanboys have a bad reputation.
Ps3 and the xbox have great features comin to them cant wait for The Agency,Halo ODST, and Halo Reach
Oh, & if you're waiting for GT4 you're a littlle late to the party on PS2 games, but GT5, God of War III, Uncharted 2, & Heavy Rain look awesome. I think GT5 & The Last Guardian are the 2 I'm most looking forward to though.
niko_osokin, a hi-def of remake of ICO & SotC would be nice.
Sufferers of OCFD (obsessive compulsive fanboy disorder) can't help themselves, it doesn't matter what console camp they're from, they are going to make stupid comments over & over & over &.....
Someone really should create an addendum to the fanboy handbook that speakes to the validity of console exclusives. For edification, if nothing else.
Criminy.
7 x $60 = $420
Yikes! I better start saving money.
I bought God of War 2 off one guy in Gamestop who did not want to get only 2.50 for his game. I walked up to him and said il give you 5.00, and the deal was done. Shop smart people thats really what it boils down to.
btw ps3 has beaten 360 sales in asia and equal in europe so only leaves north america and that aint the world,ps3 is 2nd place.fact
If you look at the XBOX (sorry, have to bring that up), finding EIGHT current games isn't too difficult
Anyways, the lineup for all consoles are pretty good, however, why buy a game for console when everything is better on the PC-course, you need to spend more money on a PC capable of playing them than the console but hey, if you don't have a gaming PC you are not really a gamer in my opinion (Before you rant, I said In my Opinion only, I'm not saying it's yours too =P). Microsoft makes great games, but I would never sacrifice PC over any console game regardless who made the console. Only exception though I like console for is hack and slash, and even then on PC (usually not offered) you can hook a controller to the PC =).
That being said, it's no wonder a lot of people are excited about the lineup for PS3 this year (well late this year and early next). You really get into these games, the plot (big plus), the graphics (not really big plus since all games are now high end graphics or near), and gameplay is simply amazing. Sony makes games with great beginning climax, more climax, and then even more climax that make the story so enticing that one can't help but get into it. Microsoft does too, but their games that dominate are all same genre-shooters and once in a lifetime case Fable. Get hack and slash right etc.!

- These game have not been released yet, so there is no way to know how they will turn out. What we can do is look at the exclusives already released on each console to judge the lineups.

- Metacritic? Really? They use blogs as part of their total and I for one really don't care if Four Fat Chicks liked a game (they hated ICO, what is up with that?).

Showing 1 of 2 pages (41 Comments)Let us look at exclusive games on each console that have scored an average of 90 or higher on MetaCritic. To hold a score like that, a game would have to be outstanding and receive praise from most critics.
To make this list, a game would have to score 90 or higher and not appear on the opposing console.
360 AAA Exclusives (10)
Gears of War (94)
Halo 3 (94)
Braid (93)
Gears of War 2 (93)
Mass Effect (91)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (90)
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned (90)
Portal: Still Alive (90)
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (90)
Forza Motorsport 2 (90)
PS3 AAA Exclusives (4)
LittleBigPlanet (95)
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (94)
Killzone 2 (91)
MLB 09: The Show (90)
It is very clear which of the above lists is larger.
Now, some will argue that the 360 came out a year before the PS3, as if that explains why the 360 has 2.5 times as many AAA exclusives as the PS3. Well, if we remove the 2 360 games that came out before the PS3 launched (Gears of War and GRAW), the 360 still has 8 AAA exclusives, twice as many as the PS3 had in that same exact timeframe. As you can see, no matter what way you twist the facts, the 360 still comes out on top.
As far as future lineups go, we can only assume which games will live up to their hype and score AAA. Here are some exclusive games from each console that are likely to receive uinversal acclaim.
Xbox 360 (10)
Alan Wake
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Halo 3: ODST
Forza Motorsport 3
Crackdown 2
Grand Theft Auto IV: TBoGT (have to abbreviate it so it does not get censored)
Halo: Reach
Gears of War 3
Mass Effect 2
Left 4 Dead 2
PlayStation 3 (10)
Heavy Rain
MAG
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
God of War III
Final Fantasy XIII Versus
Final Fantasy XIV
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Gran Turismo 5
Agent
LittleBigPlanet 2
To me, the consoles look pretty evenly matched for the future.
You are also listing DLC as a game which I think is a bit misleading, though I will acknowledge it is exclusive.
Xbox has great exclusives (Halo, Gears, L4D) , PS3 has great exclusives as well (you omitted Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Flower, inFamous and Valkyria Chronicles to name a few with your criteria). I think the difference that matters most to me is the type of games for each system. I really don't care for FPSs and of the Xbox exclusives that is far and away the majority. Not to say all FPSs are terrible, I am liking Bioshock, but even though I may be a bit of a PS3 fanboy I don't care for Resistance and don't own Killzone 2.
You are clearly a fan of the Xbox so I think it is quite telling that despite your bias the best spin you can put on the upcoming exclusive matchup is the two systems are "evenly matched in the future". Enjoy Forza Motorsport 3.
