The Last Guardian is reason enough to buy a PS3. God of War 3 looks incredible! Gran Turismo 4 will sell PS3 on it's own. All these exclusives definitely beat out the Xbox meager offering of "exclusives" that are mostly also available on PC. I'm counting 2 whole big budget games here not already available on PC. Makes me glad I'm not poor, and have to purchase a faulty, budget gaming console.

Speaking of Last Guardian, I want a Shadow of the Colossus remake, all in 1080p HD.

Also, don't a be a ******. By calling out the 360 for having a 'meager' offering marks you as a PS3 fanboy, who don't have the best reputation as of late. There's a reason the PS3 is a distant third right now, and you're not helping.
by Rod Roddy July 9, 2009 9:44 AM PDT
Why do you gotta be a ****** bag? "Makes me glad I'm not poor"--***? are you serious dude? are you like one of the only people in this economic climate that is rolling in dough? I don't even know why I'm replying to your ignorance...take your lame a$$ PS3 and trade your "glad I'm not poor" stories with all your rich loser friends.
by d--keller July 9, 2009 10:26 AM PDT
Tool. Hey, I heard Madden 06 is comming out pretty soon too. Too bad it's multi platform huh? Even the poor kids will get to play it.
by vaio3333 July 9, 2009 9:54 PM PDT
dude you are a tool. I have both the ps3 and a 360. Both have there good games and both have their bad games. Microsoft has Gears, halo, and other big name titles that allow microsoft to make the most money per capita than any other gaming company. Ps3 has good titles too, Killzone, Littlebigplanet, and Ratchet and clank to name a few, but to say that the 360's line up is meager is complete bull. and gran turismo 4 already came out. it was for the ps2. and i'm gonna have to agree with what niko, rod, and keller said. you are an idiot
by izmickey July 11, 2009 11:03 AM PDT
Seriously, i was agreeing with you up until the point you said meager. I own only a ps3 because i had MAJOR issues with the xbox360 in the past. I understand and i agree with you but there is a better way to say things. If you dont have anything good to say about the xbox360 then dont say anything unless asked.

@niko_osokin
You have to admit though xbox360 fanboys havent had the best reputation since ALWAYS. Ive seen many forums and articles with ps3 fanboys and xbox360 fanboys talking so much garbage, but xbox fanboys are greater in number. ALL fanboys have a bad reputation.
by naz1997 July 12, 2009 9:14 AM PDT
agreein with vaio3333 ive got a PS3 and a X360 as well and the reason that alot of xbox exclusives are on PC is because they are Games for Windows which is owned by microsoft.

Ps3 and the xbox have great features comin to them cant wait for The Agency,Halo ODST, and Halo Reach
by Kaden101 July 8, 2009 2:53 AM PDT
Whilst I do find that the PS3 exclusive list is more appealling to me, & that "nihilisticmystic" might have a point about a lot of the 360 exclusives ending up on PC he obviously just wanted to have a dig, & start a flamewar.

Oh, & if you're waiting for GT4 you're a littlle late to the party on PS2 games, but GT5, God of War III, Uncharted 2, & Heavy Rain look awesome. I think GT5 & The Last Guardian are the 2 I'm most looking forward to though.

niko_osokin, a hi-def of remake of ICO & SotC would be nice.

Sufferers of OCFD (obsessive compulsive fanboy disorder) can't help themselves, it doesn't matter what console camp they're from, they are going to make stupid comments over & over & over &.....

GT is the reason why I bought a PS2 over an XBox and why I will get a PS3 over a 360. Still hope GT5 ends up being more like GT2. I loved having a 67 'Vette available.

"All these exclusives definitely beat out the Xbox meager offering of "exclusives" that are mostly also available on PC."

Someone really should create an addendum to the fanboy handbook that speakes to the validity of console exclusives. For edification, if nothing else.

Criminy.

We wanted to buy a blue ray player for family and a game console for son. so, I thought buying PS3 makes better sense. And also got $150 discount from Sony and $50 gift card from Walmart. Also, PS3 plays my Divx and Vcd movies that my stand-alone Sony DVD player doesn't.

I have both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and the only games I will buy for the xbox is Halo:ODST and Mass Effect 2. As for the PS3 I am really looking forward to the lineup. I'm getting Uncharted 2, MAG, GT5, God of War 3, and Modnation Racers. 5 vs 2 With that the PS3 has a better lineup according to my gaming preferences. I'm glad that I have a decent job in this economy so that I can afford all these games.

7 x $60 = $420

Yikes! I better start saving money.

Sony sure knows how to pump out great must have titles. To be able to afford these games I've been collecting pennies off the street and putting them in my piggy bank. Every little bit helps. Maybe I can ask the government for free money uhhh... I mean bail out money.
by cyclonica1980 July 8, 2009 10:33 AM PDT
You know for you people who seriously whine about spending money on the games theres a simple solution. Wait till the game goes down in price, or better yet.. do not buy the system if you cannot afford the games. Gamers on a budget can always downgrade to the PS2 for 100.00 or less if you buy them used, and have access to a Library of over 1200 titles for as little as 5.00 each if you shop around. You would be surprised how fast I built my PS2 collection just going on Craigs List and buying great titles off people who could care less as long as they got a few more bucks than what gamestop would give them.

I bought God of War 2 off one guy in Gamestop who did not want to get only 2.50 for his game. I walked up to him and said il give you 5.00, and the deal was done. Shop smart people thats really what it boils down to.

Hey I was just being sarcastic. I do buy my games used unless it's a must have title. These are all must have titles for me and I would like to show my support by buying it new. Since all PS3 games are on blu-ray I don't mind buying it used because of it's scratch resistant coating. Any other used disc based games most of the time are not in great shape. Just go to Gamestop ask to compare a game or two and you can see clearly that PS3 games are in better shape (disc only some used games may not have it's orginal box). So out of all the games you bought from Craigs List and I assume you bought them before checking the disc how many of those games do you have to go get it repaired? If you say zero, then you are one lucky fellow, but if you did then some of those games were better off buying it new especially since you can get them new for the same price you would spend on a used games after the disc repair. Hey how about I share my bail out money and we can use it to dethrone Gamestop. Their employees always get mad when you ask them to see the games before you buy it and for ripping off customers by selling them an open box game as brand new. Punks!
by kewell82 July 8, 2009 1:35 PM PDT
I wasn't whining about spending money. I wish I had patience to wait for games to go down in price, but I don't so I need to start saving money now so that I can get those must haves as they come out.

whats with all the losers coming out complaining about fanboys.you can`t tell people what they can n can`t be a fan of.people can like or dilike what they want, its what makes the world goes round, humans are not robots and to come out and complain about some one being a fan of something is fascist especially when the people spitting the dummy are fans or a certain drink or show ot clothes.grow up,on paper the ps has the best exclusives and the most pwerfull, yeh we do all know why ps3 is third its the same reason why the 360 is 2nd...because of price and most people who buy are parents for there kids.we all know what would happen if ps3 was same price as the wii,get lost xbots your sad sour losers.man up and save up for a ps3..
btw ps3 has beaten 360 sales in asia and equal in europe so only leaves north america and that aint the world,ps3 is 2nd place.fact

I have to admit you have made very valid points. America ISNT the world. In asia PS3 is in second slowly getting to first. In usa its the other way around. Yea i dont think PS3 is in too much trouble.
by killa08 July 8, 2009 12:24 PM PDT
Its just a matter of who u are. Wii for kids, PS3 for educated or logical thinkers and Xbox for slow ppl. Just my opinion.....

You know there's a problem when making a list like this you must include games that HAVEN'T COME OUT YET.

If you look at the XBOX (sorry, have to bring that up), finding EIGHT current games isn't too difficult

That's fine but you should also know DLC shouldn't count as a full game.

Can't wait for these exclusives especially GoW, GT5, and MAG. This is like a hardcore gamers wet dream.

Both have fanboys but that's what makes these posts interesting to see whose anger thinking is stupider rather than looking at facts-if you are an adult, you better know facts because you'd be fired from work if you didn't haha. Kids, I can expect not because they haven't matured yet and are just talking out of their crotch.

Anyways, the lineup for all consoles are pretty good, however, why buy a game for console when everything is better on the PC-course, you need to spend more money on a PC capable of playing them than the console but hey, if you don't have a gaming PC you are not really a gamer in my opinion (Before you rant, I said In my Opinion only, I'm not saying it's yours too =P). Microsoft makes great games, but I would never sacrifice PC over any console game regardless who made the console. Only exception though I like console for is hack and slash, and even then on PC (usually not offered) you can hook a controller to the PC =).

That being said, it's no wonder a lot of people are excited about the lineup for PS3 this year (well late this year and early next). You really get into these games, the plot (big plus), the graphics (not really big plus since all games are now high end graphics or near), and gameplay is simply amazing. Sony makes games with great beginning climax, more climax, and then even more climax that make the story so enticing that one can't help but get into it. Microsoft does too, but their games that dominate are all same genre-shooters and once in a lifetime case Fable. Get hack and slash right etc.!

I love my ps3 best system out there, esp. with the blueray player! I think one of the BIGGEST mistakes sony made( in a long list of em) was not makeing sure that key titles were exclusive early on. even more recently they made one that could have saved the system even launching it beyond the xbox, which was not makeing RE5 exclusive. granted it's not the best game but sales and hype for the game and console would have sky rocketed much like they did with the release of MGS4. because microsft had there foot in the door earlier they got first dibs at a lot of great titles that would have been so much better released excl. on the ps3 instead they had to share the glory. Sony really needs to pick up the ball and fire their marketing director. and work on makeing ppl covet those few of us who enjoy that warm fuzzy feeling every time we boot up our ps3

Still too expensive. All three systems have exclusives so this isn't any big deal. find a way to cut the price Sony or design an affordable gaming system. and no I don't own an Xbox...

@ nihilisticmystic - Thanks for bringing up "Project Trico"
Three more that are worth adding to the list... Fat Princess, Demon Souls and White Knight Chronicles... I could swear there are a couple more coming up, but this list alone is a pretty strong group...

These game have not been released yet, so there is no way to know how they will turn out. What we can do is look at the exclusives already released on each console to judge the lineups.

Let us look at exclusive games on each console that have scored an average of 90 or higher on MetaCritic. To hold a score like that, a game would have to be outstanding and receive praise from most critics.

To make this list, a game would have to score 90 or higher and not appear on the opposing console.

360 AAA Exclusives (10)

Gears of War (94)
Halo 3 (94)
Braid (93)
Gears of War 2 (93)
Mass Effect (91)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (90)
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned (90)
Portal: Still Alive (90)
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (90)
Forza Motorsport 2 (90)

PS3 AAA Exclusives (4)

LittleBigPlanet (95)
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (94)
Killzone 2 (91)
MLB 09: The Show (90)

It is very clear which of the above lists is larger.

Now, some will argue that the 360 came out a year before the PS3, as if that explains why the 360 has 2.5 times as many AAA exclusives as the PS3. Well, if we remove the 2 360 games that came out before the PS3 launched (Gears of War and GRAW), the 360 still has 8 AAA exclusives, twice as many as the PS3 had in that same exact timeframe. As you can see, no matter what way you twist the facts, the 360 still comes out on top.

As far as future lineups go, we can only assume which games will live up to their hype and score AAA. Here are some exclusive games from each console that are likely to receive uinversal acclaim.

Xbox 360 (10)

Alan Wake
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Halo 3: ODST
Forza Motorsport 3
Crackdown 2
Grand Theft Auto IV: TBoGT (have to abbreviate it so it does not get censored)
Halo: Reach
Gears of War 3
Mass Effect 2
Left 4 Dead 2

PlayStation 3 (10)

Heavy Rain
MAG
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
God of War III
Final Fantasy XIII Versus
Final Fantasy XIV
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Gran Turismo 5
Agent
LittleBigPlanet 2

To me, the consoles look pretty evenly matched for the future.

Metacritic? Really? They use blogs as part of their total and I for one really don't care if Four Fat Chicks liked a game (they hated ICO, what is up with that?).
You are also listing DLC as a game which I think is a bit misleading, though I will acknowledge it is exclusive.
Xbox has great exclusives (Halo, Gears, L4D) , PS3 has great exclusives as well (you omitted Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Flower, inFamous and Valkyria Chronicles to name a few with your criteria). I think the difference that matters most to me is the type of games for each system. I really don't care for FPSs and of the Xbox exclusives that is far and away the majority. Not to say all FPSs are terrible, I am liking Bioshock, but even though I may be a bit of a PS3 fanboy I don't care for Resistance and don't own Killzone 2.
You are clearly a fan of the Xbox so I think it is quite telling that despite your bias the best spin you can put on the upcoming exclusive matchup is the two systems are "evenly matched in the future". Enjoy Forza Motorsport 3.
