Comments on: Blizzard prepares for 'cataclysm'

A trio of Blizzard trademark applications filed Friday cover various uses of the word "cataclysm." A cataclysm could fit within key Blizzard franchises like Diablo or Warcraft, but it could also be tied up with a fresh property.

I think its safe to say that it will involve The Titans and probably Uldum and for the Hero class Runemaster......
but from what ive read Blizzard wants to put another 29 hero classes into the game....of coarse we know how
hecktic that would be as they are already and always have been trying to balance the classes.....
whatever it is it will be good...I mean come on its Blizzard one of or THE Greatest Gaming Companys of all time.

Oh. An MMO cross-over. Bring the bosses of EQ, with all their same powers, abilities and hit points, over into WoW. I'd love to see if a group of 5 DK would own. :)

I think the best guess I've seen is it could be the name of the next expansion. I think we'll get news of the next hero class in Aug at Blizzcon. seems about the right time to announce the next expansion and some content spoilers.

An MMO fantasy strategy game. A Civ - Age of Empires - Total War - WoW mashup.

"In May, the developer confirmed that its long-awaited massively multiplayer online role-playing game follow-up to World of Warcraft will be based on a new intellectual property. "

What new property? The link here is bad.

They have not revealed any details concerning the new game except to say that it's a new intellectual property, completely unrelated to any previous Blizzard product. I'm sure more details will be forthcoming at this year's Blizzcon.

With a Name Like Cataclysm, it makes me think about DragonLance, but not likely to happen.

Glad I wasn't the only one that thought this.

Not likely to happen though, as both are fantasy. Also, Dragonlance lacks tanks and guns and motorcycles, so the kiddiez will think it's less cool.

The funny thing is, you see this headline right after you see the headline about no LAN. Makes the perfect headline IMHO!
