Comments on: Moving objects with Mattel's brainwave-reading Mindflex

Mattel's sci-fi holiday toy makes balls float using the power of brainwaves. Crave straps itself in and gives Mindflex a whirl. Hello, mind control!

I remember like 10 years ago they were making a mind control thing that could control computer games.

The interesting thing about this is not so much the game itself, but rather the possibility of hacking it to do other things. If Mattel were smart (history argues they are not, but it's never too late!) they would release a kit specially designed to encourage just that. You know, USB plugs, open source software, maybe a build-your-own robot sort of kit. Kids are much smarter than the adults who design stupid games for them. This could be revolutionary.

It's a cool toy but always out of stock.

I just wanted to share a website that I found that will alert me the instant Mindflex is back in stock at Amazon. You can use it for any item at Amazon for that matter. It checks Amazon every few seconds automatically and alerts you the moment your product is back in stock.

Here is the link (the item # is for Mindflex).

You can also just go to http://az-grabber.net and search for items.
