Comments on: iLuv's bed-shaking iPod clock radio

Shake, rattle, and roll over. That could be the motto for iLuv's new iMM153 Desktop Dual Alarm Clock for iPod, which comes with a vibrating accessory that's supposed to jolt deep sleepers from their slumber.

There is no such thing as too soon on the internet. Though, there is a too late. LOL cats, amirite?

True. Maybe I'll get one for my wife so she can stop bugging me so early in the morning.

Wonder when the first claims will start filtering from people irate that this thing scared the bejezus out of them, so much so that they awoke flailing...and slapped their precious iPod/iPhone/Touch all the way across the room.

Good vibes, fine but lets think outside the "box." It should be washable (hello it's in a bed) and include long cord and a bass speaker on the vibe. Program to um bang out the chorus (or a reasonable vibration) to 1812 overture and folks will be jumping out of the bed.

Sounds to me like it'd be used as a personal massager than anything else.

I have a sonic boom alarm clock with this technology. It is for the deaf primarily but it works great for someone who can sleep through any alarm clock like me.

Umm, unique? My deaf daughter has had one for a decade.

And Robert Heinlein described one in one of his works many decades ago. I don't have the title handy. But RAH sure described a lot of things that now exist.

She doesn't need this product, just invite me over and I will shake the bed all morning.

I sleep like the dead (6-8 alarms at once time). This could almost be worth while, but damn, it doesn't have the fail safe that throws water on you and then electricutes you. You know, just in case.

Unless it hurls a bucket of cold water at me, probably not going to wake me up. Especially considering my cat jumps on me-- claws and all-- when she wants out and that doesn't work.

Wow this ranks up with Rez's Trance Vibrator for PS2 as a "What was that person thinking when he designed this?", not to mention when he named it.

It reminds me of the "vibration bed" in the Sims. : )
